Our nuclear safety culture is strong at Kiewit Nuclear Solutions.  As a Quality Engineer, you will report directly to the Quality Manager, and will administer the Project Quality Plan.  In this role, you will be responsible for assuring that the quality program is implemented throughout the project.  You will assist in coordinating the Project Quality Plan activities associated with one or functions in engineering, procurement, construction, testing, and operations for construction projects.

Location

Multiple locations will be considered: Lenexa, KS, Aiken, SC, Houston, TX, Denver, CO, & Oak Ridge, TN. This position may be located on an active construction site. This is not a remote position. 

Responsibilities

  Maintain a comprehensive understanding of company standards, policies, and guidelines.

  Communicate client critique results and quality feedback to employees in a clear and timely manner.

  Initiate, implement, track, and close Corrective Action Reports (CARs).

  Facilitate Root Cause and Apparent Cause Analyses to identify systemic issues and preventive actions.

  Plan and conduct quality assessments to evaluate compliance and performance.

  Maintain strong knowledge of District Quality Manuals and project-specific quality requirements.

  Proactively identify and mitigate potential quality incidents before they occur.

  Participate in all project activities, providing quality assurance input and constructive feedback.

  Support the planning and execution of internal quality audits and surveillances, including:

  • Reviewing required documentation and support materials
  • Interviewing project staff
  • Administering and evaluating online audit questionnaires to assess procedural compliance

  Provide administrative support for audits, Quality Department initiatives, and Monthly Operations Reviews.

  Develop and deliver quality-related presentations.

  Disseminate quality information by presenting at department and discipline meetings.

  Mentor project staff and actively promote a culture of quality and continuous improvement.

  Draft, maintain, and manage Project Quality documentation, including defined quality activities, metrics, and performance indicators.

  Collect, organize, and analyze quality data using statistical methods to support proactive, data-driven solutions.

Qualifications

  Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline is required.

  5-10+ years of experience in quality assurance, quality control, or a closely related field is ideal.3-5+ years of engineering design experince. 

  Working knowledge of Commercial Grade Dedication (CGD) implementation for materials, equipment, and services.

  Familiarity with recognized quality standards and frameworks such as NQA-1, ISO 9001, Six Sigma, and/or U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) Regulatory Guides is preferred.

  Proficient in the use of structured problem-solving and causal analysis methodologies.

  Working knowledge of quality control procedures related to construction and field execution activities is preferred.

  Ability to freely access all areas of active construction sites and work effectively in a variety of climates and environmental conditions.

  Highly motivated self-starter with a demonstrated passion for excellence and continuous improvement.

  Strong work ethic with a commitment to completing work correctly and efficiently the first time.

  Proven commitment to ethical behavior, integrity, and professional responsibility.

  Demonstrated passion for safety, with the ability to actively support and promote a zero-incident culture.

Base Compensation: $112,000/yr - $117,000/yr
