Job description

Manage and direct activities to transfer New Business Awards into New APQP Projects within the New Product Launch (NPL) department.

Coordinate and drive activities to Start new APQP Projects after Business Award. This includes starting APQP Project Record, Cost Model verification, Project NPL Budget / Accounts, Tooling / Product Code setup, New Part Releases and PO Load into ERP system.

Manage the release of post Award scope revisions from Quoting to the assigned Project Leader managing the active APQP Project and any impacted systems already initiated at Award.

Manage Invoicing of Tooling between Project Team and Sales / Finance as project nears completion. This may include gathering customer specific documentation requirements for successful payment. New Program Project Engineer will be an integral part of Project Close out with NPL Manager and Finance.

Serve as Project Leader driving Production Launch of multiple smaller (APQP Type B) new programs or product changes within the Sidney Operation as assigned by NPL Manager.

Learn full breadth of American Trim’s process costing with goal of becoming a suitable backup for new program Cost Estimating and to become stand alone Cost Model reviewer at Business Award.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage Initiation of new APQP Projects and all related Systems upon formal new business award.
  • Coordinate and effectively communicate to all appropriate associates within the organization to fully transition Quoting / Development data to NPL Project Leader.
  • Capably lead multiple smaller APQP Type B new program launches for the Sidney Operation.
  • Show aptitude and progressively learn aspects of American Trim’s processes and related factory cost modeling.
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned.

Bachelors or better in Engineering or related field.

ExperienceRequired3 years:

Experience with progressive responsibility, preferably in Metal Stamping and Metal Painting
