JOB SUMMARY
TekniPlex is hiring a Development Manager in Eatontown, NJ. Lead New Product Development (NPD) and New Product Introduction (NPI) projects within the facility primarily by planning, coordinating, and supervising engineers and staff. Work closely with operations and quality teams on NPI projects to ensure all project/customer requirements are met while accomplishing production goals. Responsible for meeting project deadlines. The pay range for this role is $130,000 to $150,000.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Oversees all product development activities, including all contract development and design for customers and any internal product development, design, and testing
  • Prioritizes projects for the team and communicates recommendations and status through the organization
  • Supports development projects through regular project meetings and technical reviews as needed.
  • Manage utilization of equipment, facilities, and personnel across all development projects.
  • Assign and supervise tasks; review results; seek improvement when necessary (accuracy, quality, timeliness, performance)
  • Create, monitor, and update appropriate metrics for presentation to senior leaders
  • Lead NPD and NPI projects by determining and meeting project milestones and deadlines in collaboration with project managers
  • Provide technical support to improve safety, quality, productivity and financial performance
  • Monitor and document project statuses
  • Define and create controlled documents
  • Create/refine manufacturing requirements and methods
  • Coach, mentor, and train engineers, staff, and others to increase their manufacturing knowledge, use of Lean principles, and cGMP
  • Provide input to company strategic planning
  • Leads problem solving and RCA activities for development projects
  • Evaluate equipment and automation to develop recommendations for process improvements in capability, productivity, and quality
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor of Science degree in an Engineering or related science field. Mechanical and Biomedical Engineering degrees along with advanced degrees (Masers or PhD) are a plus.
  • 5+ years of experience in a new product development environment
  • Experience with material science in polymers and metals used in the medical industry
  • Experience in managing an Engineering team
  • Proficiency with Computer Aided Design and Engineering tools
  • Proficiency with MS Office
  • Good written and verbal communication
  • Ability to follow direction and work in a team environment
  • Ability to adapt to changes and manage multiple tasks
  • Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
  • Strong work ethic
  • Sound understanding of pricing principles and experience with pricing models and systems
  • Detail-oriented and organized; highest standards of accuracy and precision
  • Demonstrated ability to roll-up sleeves and work with team members in a hands-on management capacity
  • Ability to plan, organize and implement tasks with successful and timely results
