Job description

A great opportunity for Engineering degree seeking students!

The successful candidate will work 29 hours a week starting June 2026 through December 2026. 

Assists the Engineering department with the maintenance of the traveler system, learn the basics of our Metallurgical lab, Chemical Cleaning line, Paint Shop, Machine shop, Welding, Heat Treat area and to engage with shop personnel to assist with the execution and completion of specific projects.  This is primarily an administrative role to complete projects with the guidance from a mentor or other engineering team members, however, interns may be assigned projects with some degree of ownership dependent on knowledge and skillset. Interns will manipulate and inspect parts and obtain data in support of reverse engineering activities.

PRIMARY DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assists in creation and improvement of manufacturing processes utilizing engineering input, engineering drawings, process mapping, and machine capabilities.
  • Assists in development and refinement of work instructions, work scopes, Travelers, and BOMs.
  • Works under the direction and supervision from a mentor or other engineering team members to perform reverse engineering tasks related to the development of new repairs, products, technical procedures and/or processes.
  • Works under the direction and supervision from a mentor or other engineering team members to perform Metallurgical Lab duties.
  • Assists in the creation and improvement of manufacturing processes utilizing engineering judgement, drawings, process mapping, and machine capabilities.
  • Collects data and maintains metrics using Microsoft Office suite.
  • Maintains safe and orderly work areas, understands and is compliant with organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Works safely following all health, safety and environmental rules and policies.
  • Demonstrates high ethical standards and integrity as set forth in our Code of Business Conduct and our Principles of Business Conduct, Policies and Procedures.
  • Effectively participates in a team environment that promotes the company’s goals and objectives.
  • Read, write, speak, and effectively communicate in English.
  • Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions delivered in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Solves problems using appropriate critical thinking skills.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Product Engineering Manager.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials, Industrial Engineering or another related Engineering degree required.

CERTIFICATIONS

None.

COMPUTER SKILLS

Strong computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Prior experience using Microsoft Project, Visio, and Access desired but not mandatory.

Prior experience utilizing 3D modeling software (NX preferred) desired but not mandatory.
