Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner

Fee for Services: $75 for New Evaluation; $60 for follow-up visits.

K&I has an opening for a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who wants to join our growing company and help our community. We are looking for PMH-NP who will provide exceptional care.
Job Responsibilities:

  • Follow the Policies and Procedures of K&I Healthcare Services
  • Assess, examine, diagnose and treat patients with mental illness by conducting a comprehensive family assessment.
  • Assesses the impact of acute and/or chronic illness, psychiatric disorders, and stressors on the family system.
  • Responsible for identifying, selecting, and implementing clinical evidence-based best practices and programs
  • Dose/administer/monitor ketamine treatment (training provided)
  • Develops a plan of care
  • Establishes and maintains appropriate standards for diagnosis and treatment, including therapeutic modalities and prescribing practices
  • Ensuring medical aspects of quality management
  • Conducts psychiatric assessment and diagnostic examinations
  • Oversees linkage between primary care (physical) health system and between behavioral health care system, etc.
  • Prescribes and provides medication management; Counsel on the benefits and the side effects of taking the recommended medications as well as the effects of not taking medication

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Master’s, postgraduate, or doctoral degree from a psychiatric-mental health nurse practitioner program accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) or the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) (formerly NLNAC | National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission).
  • Graduation from a state-certified advanced practice program specializing in a psychiatry/mental health
  • Must be licensed by the state of Maryland as a Psychiatrist or Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Practitioner with active DEA
  • Knowledge of DSM diagnoses a variety of therapeutic modalities and interventions, and mental health-related evidence-based practices
  • Knowledge of resources targeted towards the health of adults, children, youth and families
  • 2+ years’ experience as an RN; 3 years’ experience as a psychiatric nurse practitioner
K&I Healthcare Services follows the salary guidelines in the State of Maryland. The position for PMH-NP will be a contract position at $75 per new/initial client assessment, $60 per client follow-up visits.
