Job Summary and Responsibilities

As our Imaging Informatics Application Analyst, you will be responsible for the effective implementation, configuration, and support of critical applications, ensuring they meet user needs, optimize workflows, and align with business objectives.
Every day you will analyze business requirements, configure application settings, and perform system testing. You'll provide technical support, troubleshoot issues, and collaborate with vendors/development teams. Responsibilities also include maintaining documentation, assisting with user training, and supporting upgrades/deployments.
To be successful, you will demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, practical experience in application configuration/support. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities are essential to interact effectively with users and teams. A commitment to system integrity, user satisfaction, and continuous improvement is key.

  • Develops educational tools: paper handouts, courses, web site help pages, video instruction.
  • Provides direct support for physicians, advanced practitioners, clinicians, and/or administrators in the use of facilities IT and technology resources.
  • Leads training sessions of all levels, including training for medium to high-complexity applications.
  • Anticipates and resolves routine and critical issues that arise within complex facility information systems; provides input into the resolution and/or required functionality and/or system changes.

  • Coordinates physician, advanced practitioners, clinician, and/or administrator service requests and incident resolutions through the Enterprise Help Desk.

The Barrow Informatics Department is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Imaging Informatics Analyst to join our dynamic team. This role combines the responsibilities of an Imaging Informaticist and an Application Systems Analyst, requiring a unique blend of clinical knowledge, technical expertise, and analytical skills. The ideal candidate should demonstrate expertise in Merative Merge PACS, proficiency in medical imaging workflows, knowledge of DICOM and HL7 standards, and a commitment to optimizing imaging technologies to enhance patient care, streamline operational efficiency, and advance diagnostic capabilities within a complex healthcare environment.

Key Roles and Responsibilities:

  • System Management & Optimization: Overseeing PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication Systems), RIS (Radiology Information Systems), and numerous other ancillary imaging software solutions, to ensure high performance and reliability.
  • Workflow Integration: Integrating imaging technology with Electronic Health Records (EHR) and other ancillary systems to facilitate seamless data flow.
  • Operational Workflow Support: Facilitates ongoing process and workflow analysis and optimization, ensuring that business workflows and technical solutions are efficiently implemented and maintained.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Partners with medical imaging technology staff to resolve image viewing, transmission, or storage issues, and ensure effective maintenance practices.
  • Support & Training: Providing technical support for radiologists, technicians, and operational leadership, to include, but not limited to, training on new software.
  • Vendor Management: Coordinating with third-party technology vendors for implementations, upgrades, and repairs.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitoring diagnostic information and reporting outputs to ensure optimal imaging quality and delivery.

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Technical School degree/certificate or relevant work experience
  • Seven to Ten (7-10) years of experience in IT or Informatics working on Ambulatory, Clinical, or Audio/visual applications
  • Experience working with project life cycle and project management methodologies and


Preferred

  • Bachelors Of Nursing or other related healthcare profession (Clinical Applications Support ONLY)
  • Three to Five (3-5) years working in a healthcare/medical environment

Additional Qualifications

The Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) credential, offered by the American Board of Imaging Informatics (ABII), is highly preferred, but can be obtained within the first year of employment.
