Job description

What We Offer
Our Couplet Care team provides comprehensive, family-centered care to postpartum patients and their newborns beginning after immediate recovery, when both are stable and ready for transition to the postpartum setting. We focus on supporting recovery, bonding, and education during the remainder of the hospital stay while preparing families for a safe discharge home.
  • Location: East Cooper Medical Center
  • Shift: 7pm-7am, weekend and holiday rotation required.
  • Call: 1 call shift per schedule
  • Status: Full Time

In this role, you will:
  • Assume care of stable postpartum patients and newborns following recovery, typically beginning around 2 hours of life
  • Perform ongoing maternal and newborn assessments, monitoring for changes and responding appropriately
  • Support infant feeding, including breastfeeding and formula feeding, in collaboration with lactation consultants
  • Provide education on newborn care, maternal recovery, safe sleep, and discharge readiness
  • Promote bonding and family-centered care while supporting emotional and physical recovery
  • Collaborate with OB, pediatric, and interdisciplinary teams to ensure coordinated, high-quality care

What We're Looking For
  • Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
  • Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
  • Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
