Primary Care MD Opportunity at IMS Care Center

The Primary Care MD will provide direct patient care to pediatric, adolescent, and adult patients. This responsibility includes the provision of and attention to the care of major and minor illnesses, to long range issues of health and disease and to the needs for specialty consultation. Receives administrative support from a Practice Manager. Instill the IMS mission, vision and values in the work performed.

  • Assess patient needs and arrange for specialty referrals, diagnostic and in-patient care and make appropriate referrals for service
  • Responsible for documenting patient information and visit information into IMS' Electronic Health Record in an accurate and timely manner
  • Provide patients and family members with counseling and education regarding health maintenance, disease prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and need for follow up as appropriate during each patient visit. Verify and document that the patient understands diagnosis, treatment and follow up recommendations
  • Provide consultation to nurse clinicians and nurse practitioners
  • Renders care to patients in accordance with quality and standards as are established by IMS, the standards of care prevailing in the community, applicable law, and according to state and federal grant requirements for non-discrimination regardless of status, race, sex, religion, national origin, handicap, age, or ability to pay
  • Provide patient care via telehealth when applicable
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Doctor of medicine degree from an accredited school of medicine
  • Current license to practice medicine in the United States
  • Board Certification or eligible for board certification
