Job description

A growing fire protection company is seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician to join its team in Ashland, VA. This opportunity is ideal for a technician with experience inspecting, troubleshooting, servicing, and repairing commercial fire alarm systems who is looking for a stable company with strong earning potential and long-term growth opportunities.

Responsibilities
  • Test, inspect, troubleshoot, and service fire alarm systems in commercial facilities
  • Respond to service calls and diagnose fire alarm system malfunctions
  • Repair, replace, and adjust fire alarm equipment as needed
  • Perform inspections in accordance with NFPA standards and local codes
  • Prepare accurate inspection reports and service documentation
  • Communicate findings and recommendations with customers
  • Maintain service records, tickets, and required paperwork
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as scheduled
Requirements
  • Minimum of 2 years of hands-on fire alarm experience
  • Valid driver's license
  • Working knowledge of fire alarm inspection, testing, and service procedures
  • Experience with one or more of the following systems:
    • Simplex
    • Notifier
    • Fire-Lite
Preferred Qualifications
  • NICET certification
  • Advanced fire alarm diagnostics and repair experience
  • Experience with special hazard suppression systems including FM-200 and Halon
