We are seeking an experiencedย Fire Alarm Engineer II - IVย to join our team in our corporate office located inย Richmond, VA.

Job Responsibilities:

As a Fire Alarm Engineer, you will perform design engineering and provide system design support by working closely with all MEP disciplines to ensure well-coordinated designs. This dynamic role will also involve consulting and interfacing with clients, architects, vendors, contractors, and AHJs.ย 

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Managing CAD and other technical staff
  • Participating in the employee review process
  • Writing engineering proposals
  • Participating in various trade organizations and presentations
  • Assisting in business development by expanding on current client relationships, and by attending industry and client events.

Job Requirements:

This is a great opportunity for aย Fire Alarm Engineerย with a large variety of facility types including Commercial, Industrial, Institutional, and Governmental buildings experience, as well as experience in critical facilities, storage facilities and large FLS infrastructure design. In addition to your engineering experience, to succeed in this role, you will need a solid knowledge of fire alarm systems design for various projects with the ability to communicate design concepts via drawings and specifications.ย  Experience in Fire Alarm, VESDA, and Clean Agent system design is required, along with experience in FLS Commissioning.

ย Engineer requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree from accredited college or university in Fire Protection or other Engineering discipline
  • ย 2 - 7 years of experience in fire alarm system design and consulting
  • Strong knowledge of NFPA standards and ICC based building codes
  • NICET certification in Fire Alarm systemsย preferred
  • Licensed Professional Engineer in Fire Protection preferred
  • The ability to achieve security clearance from the Federal Government
  • The ability to work independently or in a team environment effectively
  • Able to travel to various project locations on occasion
  • Experience in using AutoCAD and Revit to develop designs
  • Strong relationship skills and communications skills both verbal and written
