Maintains optimal communication between members of the Health Care Team and assists in providing direct patient care in compliance with established competencies, policies/procedures and standards while under the supervision of a registered nurse.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. High school graduate/equivalent.

2. BLS certification within 90 days of hire.

EXPERIENCE:

1. One (1) year of patient care assistant experience and or clerical experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR LICENSURE:

1. Post high school business or secretarial or computer training.

2. Medical terminology knowledge.

3. Notary Public for the State of West Virginia or obtain within 6 months of hire date and keep it up-to-date.

7. Demonstrates competency in technical skills, completes skills checklist, and correctly performs these skills daily as required.

8. Answers call bells according to hospital standards.

9. Uses equipment appropriately.
