Our Float Front Office Assistants provide coverage and support across multiple practices within our Atlanta network. Floating between physician practices is required.

Responsibilities
PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Serves as initial patient contact, initiates patient record and account. Greets patients andfamilies in a welcoming and caring manner, courteously assists callers with informationand directions.2. Answers phones (operator, appointment, back office lines, etc.) in compliance withservice goals.3. Accurately schedules all categories of appointments - new, return/office, follow-up, preop, post-op, procedure, consultation, etc.4. Prepares patient records and prints schedule in preparation for daily appointments. Makesadjustments to schedule as needed throughout the day (add-ons, cancellations,rescheduled appointments) and retains records if applicable.5. Responsible for patient registration. Interviews, verifies and performs accurate data entryof patient demographics, insurance and medical information to ensure integrity of recordsand minimize claims denial if applicable. May be responsible for basic insuranceverification processes.6. Educates patients and maintains compliance with HIPAA privacy regulations andacknowledgements if applicable.7. Accepts upfront payments (co-pays, co-insurance, etc.) and provides appropriate patientreceipts. Ensures proper documentation is provided. Balances all daily charges andreceipts. Prints reports for daily updates and close of day.8. Performs test order entry and/or facilitating scheduling of tests on behalf of patients.Enters information accurately into logs as applicable.9. Escorts patients to exam area as needed and provides directions if applicable. Monitorspatient wait times ensuring patients are seen within 15 minutes of appointment andcommunicate delays, status of procedure, etc.10. Facilitates gathering information for insurance/billing questions as requested by patients.11. Practices proper safety techniques in accordance with hospital and departmental policiesand procedures. Immediately reports any mechanical or electrical equipmentmalfunctions, unsafe conditions, or employee/patient/visitor injury-accident to PracticeCoordinator.
12. May be responsible for daily entry of office visit and diagnostic charges and accuratecharge capture
Qualifications
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES/LICENSE OR CERTIFICATION REQUIRED1. 1 year clerical/secretarial experience preferably in a healthcare environment.2. Excellent communication skills.3. Ability to follow detailed instructions.4. Successful completion of course in Medical Terminology or commensurate experience5. Proficient in the use and application of MS Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
