General Description

The Senior Architect coordinates all project efforts in order to ensure effective execution, prepares strategic plans, and serves as primary client liaison.


Due to projects, a resident of Northern Wisconsin is required as this role is the regional office contact and will lead Wisconsin sector work. Relocation assistance will be considered for qualified candidates.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Concrete demonstrable experience and core responsibilities include:

  • Coordinate all project efforts to ensure effective execution, prepares strategic plans, and serves as primary client liaison.
  • Design. Lead Project design effort that aligns with the standards and expectations of DSGW. Knowledge of design techniques, tools and principles involved in creating the character and intent of the Project design, space programing, precision technical plans, drawings and models to ensure adherence to defined standards. In-depth understanding of code evaluation and material selection.
  • Consultation. Consult with clients regarding project scope, design, schematics, practicality and delivery, including site visits. Answer questions or seek out answers and effectively manage client questions, issues or concerns. Prepare design proposals and presentations.
  • Oversight and Supervision. Provide ongoing oversight of all aspects of assigned projects, monitoring budgets, operating within budget guidelines and optimizing resources and schedules. Run project meetings; coordinate with project team; make timely decisions, revisions and adjustments to bring project to completion within budget and timelines.
  • Team and Project Management. Provide internal and consultant multidisciplinary team management related to projects.
  • Provide guidance and mentoring to less experienced team members.
  • Participates in the development of new work and client contacts.
  • This versatile role may share their time with many of the responsibilities of a Senior Project Manager.
  • Meets all qualifications, essential duties, and expectations of an Architect.
  • Timely and regular attendance to complete job duties and responsibilities.


Qualifications

  • Ten or more years of professional experience preferred.
  • Due to projects, a resident of Northern Wisconsin is preferred for this role.
  • A Bachelors degree and/or Masters degree from an NAAB Accredited University.
  • Wisconsin licensed Architect required. Minnesota licensure preferred.
  • Revit and Bluebeam proficiency preferred.
  • Valid drivers license and a clean driving record for insurability with our carrier.


Physical Demands

This position works in a traditional office setting and is also responsible for construction job site visits. This includes computer and desk work for long periods of time along with the ability to navigate job sites.


Work Environment

This position must thrive in a busy setting with frequent interruptions and have the ability to prioritize and problem solve. This position may travel to job sites and client locations. Job site travel and review may include inclement weather conditions, including heat and cold.
