Our growing public charter school in Northeast Fort Lauderdale is seeking a passionate, creative, and student-centered Elementary Art Teacher to inspire young learners through visual arts education. The ideal candidate will foster creativity, self-expression, and an appreciation for the arts while creating an engaging classroom environment that supports academic excellence and positive character development.
The Elementary Art Teacher will provide standards-based instruction for students in grades Kindergarten through 5th Grade, encouraging artistic exploration through a variety of media and techniques.
Essential ResponsibilitiesPlan and deliver engaging visual arts lessons aligned with Florida State Standards.
Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment that encourages creativity and student participation.
Teach a variety of artistic techniques including drawing, painting, sculpture, mixed media, printmaking, and crafts.
Foster students' creativity, critical thinking, and appreciation for the visual arts.
Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners.
Assess student progress and maintain accurate records of grades and student work.
Prepare student artwork for classroom displays, school exhibitions, and special events.
Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and families to support student success.
Maintain inventory and organization of art supplies, materials, and equipment.
Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, school events, and parent conferences.
Maintain a safe, clean, and organized art classroom.
QualificationsBachelor's degree in Art Education, Fine Arts, or a related field.
Florida Teaching Certificate (Art K–12) preferred or eligibility to obtain certification.
Previous elementary teaching experience preferred.
Strong classroom management skills.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to motivate and inspire young learners.
Knowledge of instructional technology and digital art tools is a plus.
