WHAT WE DO
Norris' Group Care Programs include a Residential Unit for boys, a Residential Unit for girls, and a Shelter Unit, all providing treatment, educational, and therapeutic recreational services to youth ages 12 through 17 and their families. Youth receive services related to mental health emotional behavioral disorders, problematic sexualized behaviors, AODA, and trauma, including physical, sexual, emotional abuse or neglect. The Norris team strives to provide the best quality care to youth and families by making meaningful connections and providing a safe space for individuals to heal. WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Norris is currently seeking a Clinician/Therapist for our Female Youth Residential Program! Under the supervision and direction of the Director of Clinical Services, the Clinician is responsible to provide individual, group, and family involved care and therapies. All functions and services provided by the Clinician promote the Norris mission and philosophy for providing services utilizing a trauma-informed approach. The Clinician acts in collaboration with other members of the Norris program team, placing agencies and all other program areas, including the Norris Academy. Clinical services provided are according to a personalized treatment plan that the Clinician is responsible for developing based on a thorough initial assessment upon a youth's admission to the program and updating throughout a youth's time at Norris. Additionally, the Clinician is responsible for aftercare planning as well as continued services to the youth and family following the youth transitioning from Norris. This position also helps being in-ratio to help assist our direct care staff.
The hours from this position are approximately 8am-4:30pm, most days with one 'late' night required (12pm-8pm).
ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Provides individual, group and family therapy.
  • Provides ongoing communication with youth, family members, and placing agencies regarding progress.
  • Completes treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, aftercare plans, discharge summaries, and required case management documentation
  • Collaborates frequently with Norris Academy regarding educational needs, IEPs, wellness plans and individualized plans.
  • Facilitates/co facilitates psychoeducational groups.
  • Participates in clinical staffings, team meetings, court hearings and represents Norris.
  • Develops and documents aftercare plans with youth, family and placing agencies.
  • Develops measurable treatment goals and monitors outcomes.
  • Works closely with Health Liaison, educational staff, medical providers, and community partners to ensure youth receive appropriate services.
  • Assists leadership in reviewing and providing recommendations regarding admissions, level of care, and program fit.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
  • A Master's Degree and coursework in clinical psychology, psychology, school psychology, social work or counseling with at least two (2) years of training and experience working with children involved with the child welfare and/or juvenile justice systems and can demonstrate knowledge in trauma-informed and family-focused care in mental health is required.
  • State of Wisconsin licensure or an active training license is required; Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) or similar licensure preferred.
