Job description

Overview
Bring your passion for cross-country skiing to the trails of Big Sky! As a Nordic Ski Instructor, you'll help guests of all ages and abilities discover the joy of classic and skate skiing. Whether it's their first time on skinny skis or they're fine-tuning technique, you'll create a safe, fun, and inspiring learning environment-while soaking in the beauty of the mountain setting. Enthusiasm for the sport, a desire to grow your own skills, and a genuine love for teaching are key to success in this role.
Responsibilities
  • Create an engaging and safe learning environment for individuals, families, and groups
  • Deliver high-quality instruction in both classic and skate skiing techniques
  • Clearly and effectively communicate with students, parents, supervisors, and fellow instructors
  • Show up reliably, on time, and ready to deliver a memorable guest experience
  • Adapt to all winter conditions and maintain a positive, guest-focused attitude throughout the day
  • Assist guests in properly fitting and sizing Nordic rental equipment when needed
  • Support retail and rental operations during downtime or peak periods
  • Inspire a love for Nordic skiing by leading with passion, patience, and professionalism

Qualifications
  • PSIA Level 1 certification is encouraged (can be completed during the season); Level 2 or 3 preferred or international equivalent
  • At least two seasons of previous instructing experience preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a natural talent for guest service
  • Confidence and comfort working in cold, snowy, and changing mountain environments
