Job description

Serves as the critical first point of contact in emergency situations. This role is responsible for receiving, assessing, and prioritizing emergency and non-emergency calls, dispatching appropriate Global Security, law enforcement, fire, or medical resources, and providing essential instructions to callers while maintaining calm under pressure. The Dispatcher ensures effective communication and coordination among Global Security personnel and first responders to protect employee/member safety and preserve life and property for NFCU campus and branch assets.

  • 5+ years Public Safety, 911, Emergency Services, or Law Enforcement dispatch experience using a Computer-Aided Dispatch (CAD) system
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize effectively, and make quick decisions in emergency situations
  • Proficiency with computers, CAD systems, and radio communications equipment
  • Proficient keyboarding skills, including demonstrated ability to type a minimum of 30 words per minute to support emergency call-taking, dispatching, and incident documentation
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Desired Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; 911 Public Safety Telecommunicator certification or equivalent preferred
  • 10+ years' experience in law enforcement, emergency services, or public safety dispatching is preferred 
  • Experience with CAD system administration, configuration, and support

  • Monday - Friday, 8:00AM - 4:30PM CT

Location:

  • 5510 Heritage Oaks Drive, Pensacola, FL 32526 (Full-time On-site)
  • Answer emergency and non-emergency calls promptly, gathering accurate and detailed information
  • Monitor branch alarm systems reviewing and assigning activations appropriately
  • Monitor 3SI robbery tracking system reviewing activations and assigning appropriately
  • Assess the urgency of each situation and prioritize calls accordingly
  • Dispatch appropriate Global Security, law enforcement, fire, or EMS personnel using radio, phone, and computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
  • Provide pre-arrival instructions to callers, such as CPR guidance, evacuation procedures, or safety measures
  • Maintain constant communication with Global Security field units and monitor their status to ensure rapid response
  • Document all calls, actions, and communications accurately in accordance with departmental policies utilizing a computer aided dispatch (CAD) system or other approved method
  • Operate and maintain communication equipment, including radios, telephones, and computers
  • Remain calm and professional under stressful or high-pressure situations
  • Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and legal requirements regarding confidentiality and data protection
  • Participate in ongoing training and skill development, including emergency response protocols and equipment use
  • Coordinate Global Security response to requests for service and critical incidents
  • Rotating shifts, nights, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Work is primarily in a fast-paced, high-stress call center environment
  • Prolonged periods of sitting, using computers, and communicating via radio or phone
  • Exposure to emotionally charged and potentially traumatic situations
  • Perform other duties as assigned
