Job description

Precision Steel Services | Operations Leadership Role

At Precision Steel Services, supervisors don’t just manage schedules — they set the tone, carry the culture, and turn pressure into progress.

We’re hiring a hands-on Machine Shop Supervisor to lead first‑shift operations, supporting 10–15 team members across two shifts. This role is built for a leader who stays grounded in the middle of chaos, leads from the floor, and believes strong teams are built through presence, clarity, and accountability.

What You’ll Own

  • Daily execution of machine shop operations with a visible, consistent floor presence
  • Short‑term planning and real‑time adjustment using work orders and routings
  • Team performance across safety, quality, delivery, and morale
  • Coaching, development, and accountability conversations — handled directly and professionally
  • Calm, solution‑focused leadership when plans change or pressure rises
  • Ownership of problems through closure — not hand‑offs

What Success Looks Like Here

  • Jobs ship on time — even when things don’t go according to plan
  • Your team understands expectations and trusts your leadership
  • Problems are addressed, worked, and closed — not passed along
  • You develop people, not just output
  • The floor runs with structure, pace, and discipline — without panic

Qualifications

  • 5+ years supervising in a manufacturing or machine shop environment
  • Manual machining background strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to lead through pressure, ambiguity, and shifting priorities
  • Experience working with structured work orders and routings
  • Direct, professional, and consistent leadership style
  • Comfortable holding standards while supporting your team

Why Precision Steel Services

We invest in supervisors who want real ownership, not just a title.

Our culture values initiative, resilience, accountability, and integrity — and we back those values with clear expectations, leadership support, and defined standards. Supervisors here are trusted to lead, expected to be present, and given the authority to make things better.
