OBJECTIVE: Commonpoint is seeking an enthusiastic, dependable, and knowledgeable Sports/Operations Counselors to execute. The ideal candidate is passionate about teaching the game of tennis, committed to player development, and capable of creating a positive and inclusive learning environment.


DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Create a fun, energetic, and safe environment that supports learning and improvement
Encourage sportsmanship, discipline, and a love for the game
Maintain accurate attendance and lesson records as required
Set up and take down equipment for lessons as needed
Communicate effectively with players, parents, and facility staff
Support the overall goals and values of the facility and tennis program
Attend all Summer Academy activities including orientations, meetings, trips and staff outings.
Maintain good attendance and punctuality.
Maintain a professional attitude and loyalty to the camp program at all times. Maintain confidentiality
regarding personal issues surrounding all staff and campers.


Show Initiative
Ensure a fun and safe summer for all players.
Pool Chaperone on Tuesdays and Thursdays
Bus Chaperone as needed in afternoons.
Job duties are subject to change based on changing needs.


Qualifications

Previous experience coaching tennis (youth or adults preferred)
Strong knowledge of tennis technique, tactics, and rules (preferred)
Strong skills working with children
Strong communication and interpersonal skills
Positive attitude, team player, and strong work ethic

Consider the following:

Environment, such as an office or outdoors.

Exposures encountered, such as hazardous materials, loud noise, or extreme heat/cold.
Essential physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing.
Physical effort/lifting, such as sedentary - up to 10 pounds; light - up to 20 pounds; medium - up to 50 pounds; heavy - over 50 pounds, and in certain roles, to lift individuals up to 300 pounds
