Injection Molding Production Supervisor

Picture the start of your week at our Warren, MI facility: you walk the floor, greet a cross-functional team that trusts your judgment, and scan the boards to verify the plan for D Shift is locked in. You confirm labor alignment, spot-check a mold change, and coach a tech through an adjustment to keep quality on target. By mid-shift, you’ve validated safety checks, updated production notes, and huddled with Quality and Engineering to solve a materials variance—keeping throughput on track and costs in check.

The Role

We’re hiring a hands-on leader to guide shift operations on the manufacturing floor in Warren, MI. You will champion safety, quality, and performance while coordinating closely with Scheduling, Engineering, and Quality.

D Shift Schedule

Monday–Wednesday, 12:00am–6:15am and Thursday/Friday or Saturday/Sunday, 6:00pm–6:15am.

What You’ll Own
  • Lead and support team members to achieve safety, quality, and production targets.
  • Deploy labor, manage mold changes, and set up the floor to meet the production plan.
  • Ensure adherence to standardized work, quality verifications, and all safety policies.
  • Oversee setup and operation of injection molding machines and auxiliary systems.
  • Track performance; escalate issues that risk output, quality, or cost.
  • Drive 5S and lean practices to maintain an orderly, efficient workplace.
  • Troubleshoot process, equipment, and material issues in real time.
  • Maintain complete documentation and clear shift-to-shift communication.
Qualifications
  • 3–5 years of supervisory experience in an injection molding environment.
  • Strong command of molding variables (pressure, heat, material flow).
  • Proven people leadership: coaching, feedback, and team development.
  • Mechanical/process troubleshooting and problem-solving strengths.
  • Microsoft Office proficiency (Excel, Outlook, Word); IQMS ERP experience is a plus.
  • Clear communicator of standards, procedures, and expectations.
  • Excellent organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
  • Experience managing team timecards.
  • Maintenance background in plastic injection molding preferred.
Work Environment & Expectations
  • Significant physical activity: frequent reaching, lifting, extended standing (7+ hours), walking, and stepping in/out of equipment.
  • Typical manufacturing setting—can be hot, noisy, and dusty.
  • Authority to take corrective action when processes or safety rules are not followed.
  • Empowered to stop production if parts do not meet quality standards.
