THE POSITION

As a Business Analyst 1 with the Department of Transportation, you will step into a dynamic environment where your ideas and attention to detail matter. This role allows you to build your analytical abilities while helping ensure that critical systems function as intended. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the technical and business needs of statewide driver and vehicle systems by performing analytical tasks and assisting with system improvements. As a Business Analyst 1, you will perform the following duties:

  • System Analysis: Review functions and assess operational needs for Driver Licensing and Motor Vehicle systems
  • Process Documentation: Record changes to processes and capture business requirements for updates
  • Testing Support: Develop and assess testing plans to confirm system enhancements function correctly
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide clear updates to business areas, contractors, and management teams
  • Issue Research: Investigate reported system issues and determine workable solutions or improvements
  • User Assistance: Guide staff on procedures and offer support for system related questions

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • You must be able to work off-hours, including some weekends, for release support and issue resolutions.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree; or
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training.
  • Applicants will be considered to have met the educational requirements once they are within three months of graduating with a qualifying degree.
