Job description

Job Description: Medici Land Governance is looking for a senior manager with strong expertise in aerial survey and substantial experience successfully executing large environmental and resource mapping projects using the latest drone and sensor technologies across an array of international settings.

You will build a new Aerial Survey team, manage, and grow the company’s fleet of commercial drones and survey crews while outfitting and upgrading sensor investments including compact LIDAR, magnetometer, gradiometer, and other technologies. This new division will be responsible for executing an array of projects on behalf of Medici’s government and aid agency customer base who require services such as measuring carbon footprints/forest offsets, legal and illegal logging activity, hydrological resources, and monitoring of both surface and subsurface mineral deposits. Additionally, the new survey team will support Medici’s ongoing international systematic land titling projects which rely on high-resolution aerial imagery to produce vectored data sets.
What You Will Do: Build and lead MLG’s new Aerial Survey division
Manage, and grow the company’s fleet of commercial drones and survey crews
Outfit and upgrade MLG’s sensor inventory including compact LIDAR, magnetometer, gradiometer, and other technologiesExecute an array of projects on behalf of Medici’s government and aid agency customer base
Interface with GIS and Operational teamsWhat You Should Have: Bachelor's Degree in Geomatics or related field10 years of relevant contract experience, ideally with foreign governments and aid institutions
7 years of experience building and managing teams
4 years of senior leadership in an operations role
Proven success orchestrating large-scale (10K Km2+) aerial data capture projects from contracting through final delivery and acceptance
Experience deploying multiple collection platforms (i.e. manned and unmanned)
Experience deploying multiple sensor systems (LIDAR, gravity, magnetic, etc.)Proven ability to QA/QC final data products including deep familiarity with proper ground control and post-processing best practices
Record of applying for and obtaining flight permissions from foreign civil & military aviation authorities
