Job description

Contract Opportunity: Technical Project Manager | NYC/NJ
We’re looking for an experienced Technical Project Manager to join an Agile team supporting MLB’s App + Web experiences.
📍 Location: NYC/NJ
🏢 Work Model: Hybrid — 3 days/week
 
What You’ll Do
  • Drive delivery and execution of cross-functional software projects
  • Coach 1–2 Agile teams on sprint planning, estimation, backlog refinement, and retrospectives
  • Partner with Product Owners, Engineering, Design, and stakeholders to turn requirements into actionable work
  • Manage roadmaps, dependencies, risks, issues, and project communications
  • Support App + Web event readiness and contingency planning
  • Identify process improvements that increase team effectiveness and predictability
  • Bring structure to ambiguous situations and help teams make informed decisions
What We’re Looking For
  • 3+ years coordinating mid-to-large software development initiatives across multiple Agile teams
  • Strong communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Hands-on experience working with Engineering and Product teams in an Agile environment
  • Strong ownership, attention to detail, and a continuous-improvement mindset
  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Slack, Google Workspace, and/or Outlook
  • Preferred: Experience working on mobile applications (iOS/Android) and web applications
Nice to Have
  • CSM, PMP, or similar certification
  • Degree in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science
  • Familiarity with AI-assisted development tools such as Cursor, Codex, or Claude Code
