Job description

Overview

The Material Handler Inspection Team Lead supports inspection operations within a fast-paced manufacturing and quality environment. This role monitors inspection workflow, evaluates team performance, supports compliance to ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 standards, and ensures proper control of non-conforming, rejected, and scrap materials.


The ITA plays a critical role in quality planning, inspection execution, material control, layered process auditing (LPA), and customer-specific requirement compliance, contributing directly to total customer satisfaction and continuous improvement initiatives.


This position is outdoors in a yard.


Key Responsibilities

  • ·       Monitor inspection team workflow to ensure adherence to customer-specific requirements and quality standards
  • ·       Evaluate inspector performance and provide structured feedback to Project Coordinators
  • ·        Support execution of Quality Planning, Assembly, and Inspection processes
  • ·       Ensure proper segregation, documentation, and control of non-conforming and scrap materials
  • ·       Coordinate with logistics to maintain accurate material flow and inventory control
  • ·        Perform scrap analysis and reporting
  • ·       Assist with Layered Process Audits (LPA)
  • ·       Support calibration verification and equipment control processes
  • ·       Maintain accurate inspection records in compliance with QMS requirements
  • ·        Contribute to corrective and preventive action (CAPA) initiatives
  • ·       Support document control and data integrity procedures
  • ·       Participate in internal quality audits and continuous improvement activities

Requirements

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in a manufacturing or plant environment.
  • Tele-handler certification experience is a plus.
  • Hands-on experience with precision inspection tools (Calipers, Pin Gauges, Micrometers, Height Gages).
  • Solid grasp of quality inspection principles, calibration, and measurement techniques.
  • Excellent customer-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and mathematical abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and quality data reporting.
  • Comfortable working in a factory or warehouse setting with adherence to safety and quality standards.

Education

  • Some Technical training in manufacturing or quality systems preferred.
  • QMS, ISO, or AS9102 certification a plus.
