Job Summary
The Student Assistant will support the Athletic Administration as a Football Nutrition Assistant on the Statesboro Campus beginning Fall 2026. The Football Nutrition Student Intern assists the sports nutrition and football performance staffs with the daily nutritional and operational needs of the football program. This position helps ensure student-athletes have access to properly organized meals, hydration, and nutritional resources while also providing support during team training activities.
Student employees cannot work more than 1300 hours in a 12-consecutive month period.
Responsibilities
  • Stocks and maintains the football nutrition center, including drinks, snacks, supplements, and recovery products
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of nutrition areas, refrigerators, coolers, and storage spaces
  • Assists with receiving, organizing, and tracking nutrition supplies and deliveries
  • Prepares hydration, recovery drinks, and approved nutritional products as directed by qualified staff
  • Assists with nutrition setup for practices, workouts, games, and team travel
  • Supports the Strength & Conditioning staff during weight-training sessions with setup, organization, hydration, and other non-coaching responsibilities
  • Assists with setup and breakdown of weight-room equipment before and after training sessions
  • Follows all departmental, university, NCAA, food-safety, and sports nutrition policies and procedures
  • Maintains a professional environment and protect the confidentiality of student-athlete information

Shift Specifics
  • Up to 20 hours per week
  • Flexible with schedule of availability
  • Shifts available Monday - Friday and weekends as needed

Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
  • Must be enrolled in six or more undergraduate credit hours or three or more graduate credit hours at Georgia Southern University.

Proposed Salary
$9.25 per hour
This is a non-exempt position paid on a biweekly basis.
