Job?Summary
As an Executive SEO Strategist at ProSites, you play a key strategic role in helping SMB business owners, including dentists, lawyers, accountants, and other professional service providers, improve their online visibility, attract the right clients, and grow their businesses through effective SEO & GEO strategies.
This role serves as a SEO subject matter expert supporting strategic partnerships, at-risk and escalated clients, retention initiatives, sales opportunities, and cross-functional SEO projects. The Executive SEO Strategist works closely with Account Management, Sales, Digital Operations, Product, and SEO team members to assess performance, identify opportunities, recommend strategy adjustments, and ensure appropriate follow-through on client and business needs.
The ideal candidate has extensive SEO experience, strong analytical and communication skills, a deep understanding of local SEO, AI and performance marketing, and the ability to translate complex SEO concepts into clear, actionable recommendations for clients and internal stakeholders.
Essential?Duties?and?Responsibilities:
Strategic Partnership Support
  • Support strategic partnership accounts by monitoring SEO-related projects, deliverables, performance trends, and client needs.
  • Review account performance and SEO activity to help ensure clients receive proactive, strategic recommendations.
  • Monitor deliverable timelines and identify when SEO-related tasks, audits, optimizations, or recommendations may be delayed or require follow-up.
  • Stay informed of partnership-specific changes, upgrades, client needs, or account developments that may impact SEO strategy.
  • Contribute SEO & GEO insights, data, and recommendations to client-facing presentations and business review decks.
  • Join client calls as needed to present SEO-specific updates, explain performance trends, answer questions, and address concerns.
  • When clients express new needs, concerns, or requested changes, ensure the appropriate next steps are communicated to the correct internal team members and follow up to confirm execution.

At-Risk/Escalated Client Support
  • Conduct or support monthly assessments of at-risk accounts to identify SEO performance concerns, missed opportunities, deliverable gaps, or strategic weaknesses.
  • Analyze client websites, rankings, traffic, conversions, local visibility, AI visibility, competitive positioning, and other SEO indicators to determine areas of risk or opportunity.
  • Recommend appropriate strategy adjustments for at-risk or escalated clients based on performance data, client goals, and account history.
  • Partner with Account Managers to determine whether a client may need a strategy adjustment, additional services, an upgraded SEO solution, or a more aggressive marketing approach.
  • Join client calls with Account Managers as needed to provide SEO & GEO expertise, address client concerns, explain performance, and help stabilize escalated situations.
  • Coordinate with SEO operations team members to assign, clarify, or follow up on requested strategy changes or performance-related actions.
  • Provide SEO & GEO data, insights, and recommendations for client-facing decks, escalation reviews, and account planning discussions.

Retention Support
  • Support retention efforts by providing SEO & GEO insights, performance analysis, and strategic recommendations for clients at risk of cancellation or non-renewal.
  • Partner with our retention team to help identify client pain points, performance opportunities, and talking points that may assist in saving accounts.
  • Translate performance data into clear, client-friendly explanations that Account Management or Retention teams can use during client conversations.
  • Recommend appropriate next steps to improve client confidence, demonstrate value, and support retention outcomes.

Sales Support
  • Assist Sales team members with SEO- & GEO-related questions, package explanations, proposal support, and prospect-specific research as needed.
  • Provide SEO insights for prospective clients, including competitive observations, local search opportunities, website considerations, and package-fit recommendations.
  • Support package strategy for partners, multi-location businesses, or custom opportunities when additional strategic input is needed.
  • Make strategic digital marketing recommendations to Sales and Account Management based on client goals, market opportunity, competition, and SEO best practices.
  • Help internal teams clearly communicate the value, scope, and expected impact of SEO & GEO solutions.

Mentorship
  • Mentor, advise, and support team members on SEO & GEO best practices, strategy, client communication, and account management techniques.
  • Share knowledge of SEO & GEO industry changes, algorithm updates, local search trends, AI use cases, and emerging best practices with the SEO team and relevant departments.
  • Keep pace with SEO and AI search engine and internet marketing industry trends and development.
  • Help model a proactive, strategic, and client-focused approach to SEO account support.
  • May assist with training, onboarding, quality review, or strategic guidance for other SEO team members as needed.
  • May lead or help coordinate a small team of strategists if assigned by management.

Ad Hoc Initiatives
This role could contain opportunities or requests in any of the following areas, but not limited to:
  • Review performance of current SEO solutions and client accounts to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Strategic input on new or existing SEO & GEO offerings, packages, workflows, reporting, or service delivery models.
  • Support special projects related to partnerships, escalations, retention, sales enablement, internal training, or SEO & GEO innovation.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is required as this is a full-time position.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

As an executive SEO strategist, this role can contain requests and initiatives in support of company goals and growth that correlates directly back to initiatives in place on the SEO team.
Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of local SEO, technical SEO, content strategy, performance marketing, conversion, GEO & AEO, and online customer acquisition.
  • Experience supporting high-value, at-risk, escalated, partner, or multi-location client accounts preferred.
  • Ability to analyze SEO & GEO performance data and translate findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills, including the ability to explain complex SEO concepts in simple language.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to present insights clearly without being overly technical or verbose.
