POSITION SUMMARY:
This position supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit, charitable organization committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. 1. Provides overall security and safety inside the facility as well as the outside properties.
2. Anticipates risk, implications, and possible outcomes before taking action.
3. Be familiar with the branch Emergency Action Plan and be able to execute it if necessary.
4. Keep the On site manager and the Executive Director appraised of all issues, incidents that arise in a timely manner.
5. Be able to manage any conflicts that may arise between members, and guests.
6. Be able to handle difficult situations that deals with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• 21 years of age preferred.
• 6 months or more years of experience in facility security preferred or closely related field.
• CPR, First Aid and AED certifications required within 30 days of hire. Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions.
• Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in timely manner. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
• Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
• Performs duties as assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
• Exposure to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.
• Must be able to lift and carry supplies weighing up to 20 pounds.
• Position may require bending, leaning, kneeling, and walking.
• Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
• Visual and auditory ability to respond to critical situations and physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
