Job description

The Buckeye Ranch is currently seeking a Medical Assistant to join our Residential Treatment Program. The Medical Assistant ensures that The Buckeye Ranch maintains a client and family centered, customer service focus within the Residential Nursing department. The Medical Assistant provides care for the comfort and well-being of clients, including giving prescribed medications and treatments according to approved policy and procedures.

The Residential Campus at The Buckeye Ranch was founded in 1961 and has expanded our home environment to nine residential houses with 93-beds and 200 employees. The Residential Campus, a division of The Buckeye Ranch, offers behavioral health and child welfare programs across a wide continuum of care. We proudly serve over 5,000 children and families annually, with a strong foundation in family centered, trauma-informed care.

Schedule: Full-time, Non-Exempt (Mon – Fri, 8am – 4pm) Fully In Office

What you'll do:

  • Supports the coordination of transportation to and from client medical appointments as assigned.
  • Completes medication counts within residential programs as assigned.
  • Inventories and maintains supplies for nursing offices and first aid kits.
  • Provides basic first aid and emergency care to youth and staff and then advises supervising RN.
  • Evaluates illnesses and reports findings to supervising RN. Follows up as needed, monitors and/or administers medications as prescribed under the directions of a RN.
  • Assists in health screens and reports findings to RN.
  • Orders supplies and equipment and picks up as needed.
  • Performs clerical duties related to nursing work.
  • Transports clients to external medical appointments

Who you are:

  • You have at least a high school diploma or GED.
  • You are a certified Medical Assistant (CMA).
  • You have one year of Medical Assistant experience.
  • You have an active driver license and insurance.
