Principal Accountabilities / Responsibilities:

  • Performs non-destructive tests (NDT) on aircraft and other aerospace components and parts.

  • Inspects metallic and nonmetallic materials, parts and assemblies for defects using automated and manual methods and techniques including radiography, ultrasound, penetrant, eddy current, and magnetic particle.

  • Requires minimum Level II certifications in major non-destructive testing method (RT/UT/PT) in accordance with regulations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED with 2 years of experience

  • The ability to pass a background check and drug screen

  • The ability to work all three work shifts (1st, 2nd, and 3rd)

  • Strong observational skills and attention to detail to identify defects and ensure quality

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance as required

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certifications in NDT methods such as Ultrasonic Testing (UT) II, Radiographic Testing (RT) II, Penetrant Testing(PT) and in Eddy Current Testing (ET) II

  • Relevant work experience in NDT, preferably in the defense industry or similar capacities

  • Proficiency in various NDT techniques and equipment, ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications, and knowledge and safety protocols

Primary Level Salary Range: $40,700.00 - $67,900.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.The application period for the job is estimated to be 20 days from the job posting date.
