Description

The Associate Director of Clinical Operations (ADCO), at the direction of the Director of Clinical Operations (DCO), is responsible for the implementation of clinical support activities across Westside Family Healthcare (WFH) sites in Kent County, contributing to enhanced teamwork and patient experience. Personnel responsibilities include directly supervising the nursing and medical assistant teams. Important areas of focus include staff recruitment, training, development, and performance evaluation; facilitating safe, quality, team-based care; and supporting Westside's strategic initiatives.

Core Responsibilities
  1. In partnership with the DCO and Human Resources, oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing professional development of the Clinical Operations Team to ensure appropriate staffing with qualified, well-trained and high-performing team members.
  2. Directly supervise nurse and MA leadership, and indirectly supervise the Clinical Operations Team members, through the organization's reporting structure.
  3. Ensure adequate training of staff, particularly in high-risk areas such as vaccine and medication administration and management, and point-of-care testing, facilitating patient safety and compliance with regulatory requirements (such as CLIA, VFC, and HRSA).
  4. In collaboration with the DCO, develop and implement clear and consistent performance expectations, and provide or direct the provision of formal and informal feedback on the performance of members of the Clinical Operations Team.
  5. Working closely with the DCO and HR, implement appropriate corrective actions, up to and including termination, to members of the Clinical Operations Team, when needed.
  6. Promote and foster an atmosphere of teamwork and excellence among clinical and non-clinical staff, serving as a liaison between teams.
  7. Support educational and preceptor opportunities at WFH for nursing and medical assistant students.
  8. Ensure that resources managed by the Clinical Operations Team, including clinical equipment, supplies, medications, and vaccines, are appropriately maintained to facilitate the provision of safe, high-quality care, and to mitigate risk.
  9. Participate in the development, implementation and improvement of clinical and non-clinical processes and quality initiatives, as directed by the DCO.
  10. Contribute to organizational meetings and other collaborations, as directed by the DCO.
  11. Engage in strategic and operational planning of the organization and implement and maintain operating plans to meet strategic goals and objectives.
  12. Partner with Site Operations to provide clinical oversight for the Mobile Health Program serving rural communities in Kent and western Sussex counties.
  13. Collaborate with the Associate Director of Clinical Operations in New Castle County to provide leadership and oversight of daily clinical operations, support staff, and ensure adherence to organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  14. Other duties as assigned
Requirements

1. Registered Nurse, licensed in Delaware

2. Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field

3. At least 2 years of clinical leadership experience

4. Current basic life support certification

5. Reliable transportation and ability to travel to other Westside Family Healthcare sites
