Job description

Apogee Global RMS is seeking a skilled Node.js / Java / Microservices Developer to support our enterprise client in New Jersey. This role focuses on designing, developing, and delivering scalable, high-performance applications using modern backend technologies, cloud-native architectures, and microservices frameworks.

The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in Java, Node.js, REST APIs, microservices, distributed systems, and cloud technologies, with the ability to collaborate with engineering teams to build secure, reliable, and scalable enterprise solutions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable backend applications using Java, Node.js, and microservices architecture.
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs and enterprise integrations.
  • Develop cloud-native applications leveraging modern architecture patterns.
  • Design, implement, and optimize microservices-based solutions.
  • Collaborate with product managers, architects, QA teams, and engineering teams to deliver high-quality software.
  • Troubleshoot complex technical issues and improve application performance.
  • Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and engineering best practices.
  • Support CI/CD pipelines, automation, and production deployments.

Requirements

Must-Have Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of software development experience with strong backend engineering expertise.
  • Strong proficiency in Java and Node.js development.
  • Hands-on experience designing and developing microservices architectures.
  • Strong knowledge of REST APIs, JSON, and enterprise integrations.
  • Experience with Spring Boot, Express.js, or similar frameworks.
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, MongoDB, or similar.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Strong understanding of software development lifecycle, Agile methodologies, and DevOps practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with:
    • Spring Boot
    • Node.js frameworks
    • Docker and Kubernetes
    • Kafka or messaging platforms
    • CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI)
