Job description

  • This position is initially solely focused on API Development with Python and Node.js. - THIS IS NOT A DATA ENGINEER POSITION. THIS IS ONYL AN API DEVELOPER ROLE.
  • We are NOT looking for a Data Engineer, they are wanting an API Developer, that has knowledge/theories/experience in the Data (Warehousing/API Frequency/Data Movement). But he wants a Sr. API Developer that is able to work in both Python and Node.js (JavaScript).
  • Mode of interview? Video
  • Do they have to be local to Texas since it's remote? Yes Local to TX (Anywhere) but work is remote.

Hiring Manager's note:
• Our client is looking for someone who can pick up data from random places with a wide breadth of technologies. Primarily though using Python and working on APIs. (Wanting to see a wide range of technologies such as Python, Node.js, Azure , Sr. API development)
• Need to be able to hook up and put raw data into snowflake.
• Work more on the API side of getting the data entered using snowflake should be done with them (APIs)
• Knowledge of data warehousing. (frequency of running, method of running)
• PI Developer should have some data warehousing knowledge. not necessarily building the DWH but smartly feeding the DWH.
• Building APIs and move data using snowflake.
• Deprecating the C# apps that they have. All of it is JavaScript, python based.
• JavaScript, node is what they're using
• There is one C# application so C# experience would be helpful. It's running right now but may in the future need to rewrite that.
• DevOps - Experience would be helpful
• Knowledge of using APIs that feed through Cosmos dB.
• Plus, skills: .NET, C#, Snowflake, Salesforce, Data Experience, Terraform, Docker, Azure DevOps
More Details:
• Previous Snowflake Development experience is not needed. The client does have a BI Architect on staff that is handling their Snowflake Build out. They would like to see previous experience with Pushing/Pulling Data from Snowflake, but do NOT need to build any Data Pipelines.
• They are deprecating their C#/.NET Environment, in which they only have 1 active application on that tech stack. Their future is Python/Node.js. As of now, no migration experience is needed, just looking to build APIs.
• Mostly Internal APIs from Data Storages.
• zure Experience (Function Apps, DevOps, Pipelines, Terraform) -- Their Azure DevOps org is still fresh, would like this resource to eventually help in this space.
• They NO LONGER need NoSQL experience; they have deprecated their CosmosDB (C#/.NET) and moving towards Snowflake. SQL Server is there on-prem DB.
• They have an internal Salesforce Architect + working with Salesforce (client) for that build. Not needing this resource to be an expert. But previous Salesforce experience is a 'nice to have'
