What does no TWIC card required mean for a job listing?

'No TWIC Card Required' means that applicants do not need a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) to qualify for the job. TWIC cards are typically required for workers who need unescorted access to secure areas of maritime facilities and vessels. If a job specifies that no TWIC card is required, it usually means that the position does not involve work in secure port or maritime locations, making it more accessible to a wider range of applicants. This can simplify the hiring process and reduce the time and cost associated with obtaining the credential.

Are there opportunities for advancement in roles that do not require a TWIC card?

Yes, many positions that do not require a TWIC card, like warehouse associates or local delivery drivers, offer clear pathways for career advancement. Employees often start in entry-level roles and, by demonstrating reliability and a strong work ethic, can move into supervisory or specialized positions. Companies may provide on-the-job training and support for certifications that can open doors to team lead, logistics coordinator, or operations manager roles. Advancement typically depends on performance, experience, and willingness to take on additional responsibilities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed for a position where no TWIC card is required?

For roles that do not require a TWIC card, essential skills typically include relevant industry knowledge, basic safety awareness, and job-specific technical abilities, often supported by a high school diploma or vocational training. Familiarity with standard workplace safety protocols and, where applicable, use of equipment such as forklifts or hand tools is important. Strong work ethic, reliability, and effective communication are valuable soft skills that help employees excel in such roles. These attributes are crucial for maintaining productivity, ensuring a safe work environment, and contributing positively to team dynamics.

This position is suited for experienced, professional officers who are comfortable working in secured, credentialed environments and can execute post orders with consistency, accuracy, and sound judgment.

Shift times vary based on facility location and operational needs. Full-time and part-time openings are available with shift assignment based on operational needs and candidate availability.

Position Overview

Officers must be dependable, professional, and capable of managing credentialed access environments without constant direction. Candidates should be comfortable working in secured industrial or marine settings and interacting with contractors, vendors, and vessel crews in a professional and authoritative manner. Prior security experience in port, marine, industrial, or access control environments is preferred. Candidates without port-specific experience but with strong access control or credentialed facility backgrounds will be considered.
