What does 'No Touch' mean in the context of truck driving, and how does it affect a driver's daily workload?

'No Touch' in truck driving refers to jobs where drivers are not required to load or unload the freight themselves. Instead, the loading and unloading are handled by warehouse staff or dock workers. This allows drivers to focus primarily on timely and safe transportation, reducing physical strain and minimizing delays caused by loading tasks. It can be appealing for those looking to avoid heavy lifting or manual labor, but drivers are still responsible for ensuring the cargo is secure and for managing their schedules around loading dock appointments.

What are 'No Touch' jobs?

'No Touch' jobs typically refer to positions in the trucking and transportation industry where the driver is not required to load or unload the freight themselves. In these roles, all loading and unloading are handled by warehouse staff or dock workers. This arrangement is preferred by many drivers as it reduces physical labor and speeds up the delivery process. 'No Touch' jobs are commonly found in long-haul trucking and dedicated freight routes.
