What is a no experience web developer?

A No Experience Web Developer is someone who is new to web development and is seeking entry-level positions without prior professional experience in the field. These individuals typically have foundational knowledge of programming languages like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, often gained through self-study, online courses, or coding bootcamps. Employers hiring for these roles look for enthusiasm to learn, problem-solving skills, and a basic portfolio of personal or academic projects. Starting as a No Experience Web Developer is a common way for beginners to break into the tech industry.

What can I expect working as a web developer?

Web developer jobs can be interesting and rewarding, but they are also a lot of hard work. Many of your responsibilities as an entry-level professional involve collaboration with project managers, tech leads, and other developers. New projects begin with a kick-off meeting to gather background information, such as specific languages, coding, programming, software use, and client goals. In this position, details are important, so you can expect the standards to be high throughout all of your duties. When you start work on a project, you can expect to do a lot of code writing, testing, and retesting until you get the desired results.

What types of projects or tasks can a no experience web developer expect to work on in their first role?

As a no experience web developer, you will likely start with smaller tasks such as fixing bugs, updating website content, or assisting with the development of specific web pages under the guidance of more senior developers. You may also help with testing features, writing documentation, or learning version control systems like Git. These responsibilities are designed to help you build foundational skills, gain confidence, and gradually take on more complex projects as you grow within the team.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a no experience web developer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a No Experience Web Developer, you need a solid understanding of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript, often demonstrated through personal projects or online coursework rather than formal job experience. Familiarity with version control systems such as Git, as well as exposure to web development frameworks or platforms like React or WordPress, is highly beneficial. Strong problem-solving abilities, a willingness to learn, and effective communication skills help you adapt quickly and collaborate with others. These attributes enable you to build foundational projects, contribute to teams, and grow rapidly in the field despite a lack of prior professional experience.

Our organization also operates in the United Kingdom, Europe, Canada, and New Zealand. We have been a global leader in bridal fashion for over 20 years, and our designs are currently sold in nearly 1,000 stores worldwide. With innovative designs and a strong customer service approach, Essense of Australia is a dynamic company that rewards excellence, drive, and collaboration.

The Role

We are looking for a Digital Web Coordinator to join our team in Lenexa, KS. This role works across the entire Marketing Technology Department and is responsible for assisting the digital and web development teams in executing the overall digital strategy in the areas of website and digital platform management, SEO, SEM, data analysis, and analytics. The Digital Web Coordinator is accountable for implementation of cross-functional marketing campaigns, gathering and analysing data, coordinating website launches, organizing digital assets across various web properties, website testing, reporting, SEO content analysis and recommendations, link building and citations management, and making recommendations based on the data.

This role is also an active contributor to the team's AI initiatives — applying AI tools day-to-day, developing prompts and workflows, and helping evaluate and implement AI-powered solutions across the marketing organization.

We are a company that believes in finding better ways.  We want someone who is not only always looking for better ways but is also open to new ideas from other team members and outside the company.  Most importantly, we are seeking an individual who is aligned with our culture who will create and support an inspiring environment that promotes productivity, innovation, and fun!

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with internal teams, content marketers, and blog contributors to create high-quality, engaging content around relevant search terms.
  • Launch, optimize, and maintain listings such as Google Business Profile, Yelp, Apple Maps, and more for multiple locations.
  • Work directly with outside media partners — providing content, images, tracking, and other requests as needed.
  • Work with the Analytics team to support reporting needs by gathering data, organizing reports, and building dashboards; create recommendations and guides for onsite analytics tracking and proper campaign tags for incoming links.
  • Work with teams to create and organize content for multiple digital properties including wholesale, retail, and B2B sites/channels.
  • Incorporate AI tools into content workflows — including drafting, editing, and ideation — while maintaining brand voice and quality standards.
  • Develop and document effective AI prompts and content workflows that can be shared and scaled across the team.
  • Create and execute complex content update timelines across all digital properties, both internal and external, for collection launches.
  • Create, update, and maintain all pages on company-owned websites year-round, including blog posts and campaign-specific landing pages through WordPress CMS.
  • Create and execute QA plans to ensure all content published to our websites is accurate and on-brand.
  • Support all team members during new development cycles by gathering data, updating tickets, and organizing content.
  • Work closely with other teams to execute technical QA needed prior to new releases.
  • Contribute to the scoping and testing of AI-powered tools, plugins, or custom integrations built for internal marketing use.
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to create pitches for new development that extends the functionality of the site and improves the user experience.
  • Serve as an active participant in the team's broader AI strategy.
  • Evaluate and test emerging AI tools and platforms, synthesizing findings into clear recommendations for team adoption.
  • Identify opportunities to automate repetitive processes and assist in building or configuring AI-assisted workflows.
  • Stay current on developments in AI relevant to digital marketing and web operations, bringing new ideas and use cases to the team proactively.

 What We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or similar field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered
  • 1-2+ years of digital marketing or website management experience preferred
  • Experience executing, monitoring, and reporting digital marketing campaigns.
  • Ideal candidate would have exposure to SEO, Paid Social, and SEM.
  • Experience with WordPress CMS and basic HTML.
  • Experience with Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, and reporting dashboards.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel.
  • Familiarity with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude) and a genuine interest in prompt engineering, AI-assisted workflows, or automation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
  • Team-focused with the ability to work autonomously as needed.
  • Ability to thrive in a challenging, dynamic environment where multi-tasking and adaptability are a requirement.
