Job Description
Chino Hills Animal Hospital and Pet Resort is a 7 DVM practice, open 7 days a week. We are a fast-paced hospital looking for an experienced Veterinary Assistant to join our team. This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking for a long-term career and to grow with a practice. Our hospital is fully equipped with in-house laboratory, digital radiography, full anesthesia monitoring, and a fully equipped surgical suite. We recently completed a full remodel of the practice including upgraded equipment and technology, additional exam rooms, and a Pet Resort. Applicants must have a minimum of 1-year experience as a Veterinary Assistant, available to work weekends, and work full-time (40 hours a week).
As a Veterinary Assistant you are the primary support to Veterinary Technicians and patients alike. Veterinary Assistants must be able to pay attention to detail, respond quickly and calmly at all times, and maintain the highest quality of patient care and client service.
Duties*:
  • Assist veterinarians and technicians where needed.
  • Proper restraint and handling of patients.
  • Toe nail trims and anal gland expressions.
  • Laundry (surgery laundry and towels).
  • Sweeping and mopping.
  • Washing dishes.
  • Cleaning cages.
  • Restocking supplies as needed.
  • Running in-house lab work and preparing lab work for pick up.
  • Obtaining patient TPR's.
  • Basic understanding of medications.
  • Assisting in radiographs.
  • Vaccine protocol and administration.
  • Cleaning instruments and preparing surgical packs.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Team work.

  • 1-year veterinary experience (preferred)
