Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce has a client that is seeking a Remote Software Engineer.
Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Software Engineer to join an enterprise application development team responsible for maintaining and modernizing critical applications. This role will be approximately 70% backend development and 30% frontend development, with a strong focus on the .NET ecosystem, application modernization, and secure software development.
The team supports a combination of modern applications hosted in OpenShift as well as legacy applications running on-premises in Windows Server environments. A key focus of this position will be helping modernize legacy technology, address vulnerabilities, and migrate existing application code to .NET Core.
Key Responsibilities:
* Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise applications using .NET Framework and .NET Core
* Support and modernize applications currently running in both cloud/containerized and on-premises environments
* Develop backend services and application functionality using C# and the .NET ecosystem
* Build and maintain user-facing functionality using React
* Help migrate legacy application code from .NET Framework to .NET Core
* Troubleshoot and remediate vulnerabilities within legacy applications and technology stacks
* Work with applications hosted in OpenShift as well as applications running on Windows Server
* Collaborate with development, architecture, infrastructure, and security teams to improve application quality and security
* Participate in code reviews, testing, troubleshooting, and production support activities
* Contribute to application modernization and technical-debt reduction initiatives
* Follow enterprise development, security, CI/CD, and deployment standards
REQUIREMENTS:
* Strong professional experience developing applications using .NET Framework
* Experience with .NET Core and a willingness to work on application modernization and migration efforts
* Strong C# development experience
* Professional experience with React
* Experience working with enterprise applications in production environments
* Experience troubleshooting and enhancing existing/legacy applications
* Strong understanding of software development best practices, debugging, testing, and code quality
* Ability to work across both backend and frontend development, with a stronger emphasis on backend development
* Ability to work effectively in a remote, collaborative development environment
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with OpenShift
* Experience with Kubernetes
* Experience with Harness or similar CI/CD platforms
* Experience working with containerized applications
* Experience modernizing legacy applications and migrating .NET Framework applications to .NET Core
* Experience in addressing application vulnerabilities and working closely with security teams
* Experience supporting applications deployed across both on-premises and containerized environments
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
