'No Experience Salon' jobs are entry-level positions at beauty salons that do not require previous work experience in the industry. These roles are ideal for individuals looking to start a career in beauty and may include duties such as assisting stylists, cleaning, greeting clients, and learning basic salon operations. To earn $100,000 as a hairstylist, professionals typically build a strong client base, develop specialized skills, and work in high-end salons or own their own business. Increasing income can also involve offering premium services, retail product sales, and working flexible or extended hours. Certifications and a good reputation help attract higher-paying clients and opportunities.

What kind of training and support can I expect when starting at a salon with no prior experience?

Many salons that hire candidates with no prior experience provide comprehensive on-the-job training, which may include shadowing experienced stylists, attending in-house classes, and learning about salon protocols and customer service. You’ll likely start with basic tasks such as greeting clients, assisting with shampooing, and maintaining the cleanliness of the workspace. As you gain confidence and skills, you may be given more responsibilities and opportunities for advancement, such as assisting with color treatments or learning to perform basic services under supervision. Teamwork is essential, and you’ll collaborate closely with stylists, receptionists, and management to ensure a positive client experience.

About Great Clips

Sourced by ZipRecruiter

Great Clips, Inc. was established in Minneapolis, Minnesota by founders David Rubenzer and Steve Lemmon in 1982, a time when most people received haircuts in one of three ways: in full-service hair salons, from barbershops or at home. As a stylist and businessman, David could see that the industry was changing. Customers were looking for a hair salon service that could fit their busy lifestyles and desire for value. To be part of that change – rather than find themselves competing with it – David and Steve developed the then-radical concept of a walk-in haircare salon with weekend and evening hours, offering customers a select list of services, and providing benefits for stylists. After the founders opened several successful hair salons, Ray Barton joined David and Steve as an owner in March 1983. With Ray's help and expertise in franchising, the trio set about growing the Great Clips hair salon brand. That success continues through today.
