Title: Registered Nurse First Assistant - Surgical
Schedule: 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Assignment Details:
- Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Guaranteed Hours: 36.00
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse (RN) licensure in the state of practice: Required
- Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA) certification in the state of practice: Preferred
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from an approved vendor: Required
- Certified Nurse Operating Room (CNOR) certification: Required
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification from an approved vendor: Preferred
- Two years' perioperative nursing experience: Preferred
Roles & Responsibilities:
- Organizes and facilitates patient care in the Operating Room.
- Coordinates care between the surgeon, anesthesiologist, and room staff.
- Performs circulating and scrubbing duties during surgical procedures.
- Verifies surgical site prior to the induction of anesthesia.
- Conducts sponge, needle, and instrument counts as per policy.
- Assists the surgeon with tissue handling, suturing, and other surgical procedures.
