Description:
The position is for a registered nurse specializing in the intensive care unit.
The unit has 10 beds with a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:2.
Common diagnoses include heart failure, respiratory failure, sepsis, and strokes.
Patients may be on various drips including Propofol, Levophed, and Fentanyl.
It is required for nurses to titrate medications.
There is a charge nurse on each shift who does not take patients.
Administrative support is available on-site 24/7.
A crisis nurse is also present 24/7.
Respiratory therapists are available in the ICU around the clock.
There are no tele monitor techs; registered nurses are responsible for reading strips.
Shifts are scheduled by the unit scheduler and may be grouped together.
Weekend work may be required as needed.
There is no call or standby requirement.
Nurses may have to float to other units as needed.
Dress code allows for any professional and clean color scrubs.
