Essential Functions:

  • The HIM Site Coordinator is responsible to monitor all HIM functions as it relates to the medical record processing and quality control for the legal medical record. Coordinates all HIM operational functions that are performed onsite. Implements facility policies and procedures to organize and maintain the medical records (health information) system in compliance with federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Coordinates Medical Record processing of facilities onsite documents.
  • Liaison for physician chart completion and assists physicians when necessary
  • Performs audits, provides trending reports, works with end users to improve compliance with accuracy of documents in the medical records.
  • Coordinates Release of Information functions.
  • Performs all necessary on-site office functions.
  • Provides education to end users with regards to the medical record

Job Qualifications:

Education :

Minimum Required: Associates Degree

Preferred: Bachelor's degree

Experience:

Minimum Required : Two years of experience in a related field required with an Associate's degree, no experience required with a bachelor's degree.

Preferred : Health Information Management experience preferred.

License/Certification:

Minimum Required: None

Preferred: RHIA, RHIT
