Job Summary

The Health Information Management (HIM) Supervisor leads the HIM department, ensuring accurate and secure patient records, optimizing workflows, and driving continuous improvement in data integrity to deliver an exceptional patient experience.

Responsibilities
  • Oversee day‑to‑day operations, ensuring proper staffing and workload distribution for maximum productivity and quality.
  • Provide staff support to complete all operational activities daily.
  • Implement and monitor workflows, queues, and processes for the LCMC HIM system.
  • Train staff on operational changes and daily workflows.
  • Exercise sound judgment on daily operational issues.
  • Resolve conflicts related to processes, staff, or external customers.
  • Monitor team productivity and effectiveness, fostering a culture of excellence.
  • Track employee timekeeping, including time off, approved schedules, overtime, and time‑clock accuracy.
  • Supervise all HIM activities as assigned.

Qualifications
  • Minimum: Associate’s degree in HIM or related field.
  • Minimum: Two years of HIM or related experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in HIM.
  • Preferred: Epic experience.
  • Preferred: Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA) or Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT).
Education Requirements
  • Associate Degree in HIM or related field (minimum).
  • Bachelor’s Degree in HIM or related field (preferred).
