No Experience Relocation information

What are careers that require no experience and offer relocation assistance?

Careers that require no experience but still have relocation assistance programs typically include work in medicine, education, and sales. For example, a medical student who needs to relocate for a residency program may receive relocation assistance from the hospital or university at which they are a resident. If you are a teacher who has completed your education credentials and your master's degree in education, you can often get relocation assistance, especially if you agree to work in a remote area or a school district in which teachers are in short supply. A company relocation package may include financial assistance, including reimbursement for moving expenses and travel for training.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in an entry-level relocation specialist role, and why are they important?

To thrive as an entry-level relocation specialist, you typically need strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a high school diploma or equivalent. Familiarity with office software (such as Microsoft Office), customer relationship management (CRM) tools, and basic logistics platforms is common. Excellent communication, adaptability, and problem-solving skills help you support clients through transitions and manage unexpected challenges. These skills are important to ensure smooth, efficient moves and high client satisfaction in a dynamic relocation environment.

What are some common challenges faced when relocating for a job with no prior work experience, and how can candidates overcome them?

Relocating for a job without prior experience can be challenging, especially when adjusting to a new city and workplace simultaneously. Many entry-level employees face difficulties such as establishing a support network, navigating unfamiliar public transportation, and adapting to new work cultures. To overcome these challenges, candidates should research the area in advance, connect with colleagues or local professional groups, and seek out company onboarding resources. Taking proactive steps to integrate both socially and professionally can ease the transition and set the foundation for career growth.

Job description

─────────────────────────────────
BEFORE YOU APPLY — PLEASE READ:
─────────────────────────────────
• This job requires your own reliable car. Work takes place at clients' homes across Great Neck, Queens, and surrounding areas — not at a central office.
• This is a part-time role. Shifts generally run Monday–Friday, 10am–3pm, with occasional Saturdays.
• There is no guaranteed minimum number of hours. Shifts become available as jobs are sold.  That being said, we are BUSY!
If all three of those work for you, we'd love to hear from you.
─────────────────────────────────
ABOUT US
─────────────────────────────────
Caring Transitions of Great Neck helps elderly clients and their families through some of life's most significant transitions — downsizing from a long-time home, resettling into a new one, or clearing out a home after the loss of a loved one. We manage relocations, conduct online auctions and estate sales, and perform compassionate, professional clean-outs.
We are part of Caring Transitions, a national franchise with over 400 locations and the largest senior relocation company in the country. Our Great Neck team is small, hands-on, and genuinely proud of the work we do.
─────────────────────────────────
WHAT YOU'LL DO
─────────────────────────────────
• Sort and organize household belongings for packing, moving, selling, donation, or disposal
• Pack and carefully box household items for moves
• Unpack and resettle clients in their new home — putting away clothing, linens, kitchen and bathroom items, making the bed, connecting the TV, hanging pictures, and helping recreate the comfort of their old home
• Assist with estate sale and online auction preparation:
   - Grouping items into lots
   - Staging and photographing items
   - Writing lot descriptions and uploading to our CTBids.com auction platform
   - Managing auction pickups and in-person estate sales
   - Packing and shipping purchased items to winning bidders
• Light cleaning, including sweeping and vacuuming
• Interacting with clients and their families with patience and care
─────────────────────────────────
HOURS & SCHEDULE
─────────────────────────────────
Part-time, variable hours, Monday–Friday with occasional Saturdays. Shifts are generally 10am–3pm and will not exceed 6 hours. Flexible scheduling — you choose which shifts work for you. No minimum hour commitment. Shifts become available as jobs are sold.
─────────────────────────────────
REQUIREMENTS
─────────────────────────────────
• Valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable personal vehicle
• Comfortable driving in NYC boroughs and parallel parking (parking is reimbursed)
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs repeatedly and be on your feet for a full shift
• Able to climb stairs and work in occasionally dusty or cluttered environments (N95 masks and gloves are provided)
• Smartphone required (used for scheduling, time-keeping, project management, and auction photography)
• Fluency in spoken and written English
• Must consent to background and driving record checks
─────────────────────────────────
WHAT WE LOOK FOR
─────────────────────────────────
• Patience, empathy, and compassion — we work with a vulnerable clientele going through difficult times
• Maturity and life experience — it genuinely helps in this role
• Reliability and integrity
• Good attention to detail
• A team player who collaborates well with others
• Comfortable speaking with clients and their families
• Self-motivated and willing to learn
─────────────────────────────────
WHY THIS JOB MIGHT BE RIGHT FOR YOU
─────────────────────────────────
• No experience required — we provide full on-the-job training
• Meaningful work: you're reducing stress for families in some of their hardest moments
• Flexible scheduling that fits around your life
• Supportive, encouraging management
• Interesting and varied work — no two jobs or days are alike
• Advancement opportunities as the business grows
This is a great fit for retirees, parents with school-age children, or anyone looking for flexible, feel-good supplemental income who doesn't need a rigid weekly schedule.
Join our team in Great Neck and help give peace of mind to elderly clients and their families.
