Note: This is a hybrid role based in Brooklyn, OH, requiring three days per week on-site.

Job Summary:

Senior data science developer specialized in design and development of machine learning models. Senior data scientists are expected to be self-sufficient and able to assist in coaching junior data scientists. Core job duties are extracting data and preparing data for machine learning models and designing, optimizing, measuring and testing machine learning models. Additional responsibilities include planning and development for integration of machine learning models into production systems, and ad-hoc exploratory analytics to understand and describe data-driven trends.

Responsibilities:
  • Feature selection/design and extracting and preparing data for machine learning models
  • Developing, optimizing and testing machine learning models
  • Measuring and understanding performance of machine learning models and proposing/experimenting with methods to improve models
  • Designing and executing production system integration for machine learning models
  • Working with business for feature selection and design, presenting and reviewing model performance, explaining model performance metrics in terms of business impact
  • Ad-hoc analytics and data science work to explore data and understand and describe data trends
  • Learns new technical concepts and software languages as needed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications: Education and Experience:
  • Masters/PhD degree in Computer Science, mathematics, machine learning/AI or equivalent combination of a bachelor’s degree and work experience
  • 4+ year experience with machine learning techniques (feature encoding techniques, embeddings, various kinds of models, hyperparameter optimization, regularization techniques, loss and performance metrics) in a team environment
  • 4+ years of experience with SQL programming language
  • 2+ years of experience with python programming language
Technical Skills and Knowledge:
  • Advanced programming design patterns and coding techniques required
  • Skilled with all parts of the systems development life cycle required
  • Relational database technologies and query semantics required
  • Python programming language required
  • Machine learning system integration required
  • ML in Python/Jupyter notebooks environment
  • AWS SageMaker
  • Python ML libraries, strategies, and techniques
  • R programming language
  • Data analytic and visualization experience using R or Python
  • ETL technology and techniques
