The Role
We're looking for a Travel Infusion Nurse who is passionate about raising the bar in infusion therapy care. Local Infusion is seeking an experienced, flexible, and patient-focused Travel Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) for a 14-week temporary assignment beginning on or around September 7, 2026, supporting our Massachusetts infusion centers. The Travel Infusion Nurse will provide direct patient care across our Waltham, Stoneham, and Watertown, Massachusetts clinics and help ensure our patients receive the highest level of infusion therapy care possible.
The ideal candidate has experience working autonomously, strong IV skills, and experience administering biologic medications. This temporary travel position is ideal for an RN who enjoys variety, is comfortable working across multiple clinical locations, and can adapt to patient and operational needs while maintaining exceptional standards of care.
Assignment Details
  • Start Date: September 7, 2026
  • Assignment Length: 14 weeks
  • Schedule: 4 days per week
  • Hours: Up to 36 hours per week, inclusive of applicable travel time
  • Shifts will generally be scheduled in 8-hour increments
  • Existing patient appointments will be accommodated when establishing the weekly schedule
  • Stoneham, MA: 2 days per week
  • Watertown, MA: 1 day per week
  • Waltham, MA: 1 day per week
  • This is a temporary, non-benefited position
Rate
$60/hr + we cover accommodations and all travel OR we will compensate for travel time, in lieu of accommodations.
Training & Onboarding
The Travel Infusion Nurse will complete approximately two weeks of onboarding and training at the beginning of the assignment. Training will take place in Massachusetts or Connecticut, with the final training location to be determined based on operational and training needs.
Following onboarding, the nurse will transition to the regular Massachusetts travel schedule for the remainder of the assignment.
Travel between assigned Local Infusion locations is an expected component of this role.
  • Approved business mileage will be reimbursed in accordance with company policy.
  • When overnight accommodations are not required, approved travel time will be compensated.
  • Applicable travel time will be included within the position's up to 36 scheduled hours per week.
  • Reliable transportation and the ability to travel between assigned locations are required.

In this role, you will:
  • Assess and document the health status of the patient
  • Deliver infusions or injections in accordance with prescribed protocols and organization guidelines
  • Provide onsite supervision and clinical support for patients throughout treatment
  • Monitor patients before, during, and following treatment and respond appropriately to changes in clinical condition or infusion reactions
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Assist in maintaining medical inventory and supplies
  • Openly communicate with referring and prescribing providers regarding order clarification, patient status, and plan of care
  • Review upcoming patient schedules and treatment needs to support appointment readiness
  • Collaborate with Local Infusion's clinical and operational teams to ensure continuity of care
  • Travel between assigned Massachusetts infusion centers based on the established weekly schedule and patient needs
Here's what we're looking for:
  • Current and unrestricted Massachusetts RN licensure
  • Experience in outpatient infusion therapy or a similar clinical setting, including caring for multiple patients at one time
  • Comfortable working autonomously
  • Excellent IV skills and ability to consistently establish peripheral IV access
  • Experience administering biologic medications strongly preferred
  • Current BLS CPR certification
  • ACLS & PALS certification preferred
  • Experience and strong familiarity utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems
  • Strong communication, organization, and clinical judgment
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel between assigned Massachusetts locations
  • Ability to maintain availability four days per week for the duration of the 14-week assignment
Assignment Extension
This position is intended as a 14-week temporary assignment beginning September 7, 2026. Approximately 30 days prior to the scheduled end of the assignment, Local Infusion and the Travel Infusion Nurse may discuss and renegotiate an extension if continued coverage is needed. Any extension will be based on operational needs, performance, availability, and mutual agreement and is not guaranteed.
