Scope of Position
The Electrical Engineering Intern, as part of the Engineering Sustaining and New Product Development Team, will be responsible forassisting the engineering team with sustaining existing products, cost reduction efforts, supplier assessments and new product development.
This position reports to the Project Engineering Manager. This role is onsite and is based in Sparks, NV.
Accountabilities
• Execute product updates
• Review requests for alternative components
• Review First Article Inspection Reports and disposition
• Complete tasks assigned by engineering team
Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities
• Update drawings and BOMs as needed using the Engineering Change Order process
• Support cost-out initiatives by reviewing new samples and inquiries from new suppliers
• Develop test fixtures and procedures and complete product testing
• Support production issues
• Assist engineering with new product development
• Assist engineering with sustaining projects

Required Qualifications
• Must be a Junior or Senior Electrical Engineering student
• Understanding of and adherence to applicable laws, codes, policies, regulations, and safety practices and procedures, as applicable.
• Must successfully establish employment eligibility and satisfactorily complete background checks, including [insert checks], and required pre-employment testing as a condition of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with SolidWorks 3D CAD
• Experience with test automation or data acquisition software (LabVIEW, Python, or equivalent)

Working Conditions
While performing the job duties, you will be working on-site at a manufacturing facility and will perform the majority of your duties in an office environment. You may, at times, be required to be present on the manufacturing floor and will be required to wear the appropriate personal protective equipment. You will be required to work in the office at the Sparks, NV location (Monday - Friday). Your scheduled work hours will be communicated to you by your manager.
