Job description

The Department of Cell Biology & Physiology is seeking anenergetic, capable, self-motivated individual with excellent computer andcommunication skills to support the department and department leadership. The successful candidate will be able to act independently,balance multiple ongoing priorities, and demonstrate exceptional skill atanticipating needs based on existing knowledge. The individual must bedetail-oriented, an experienced multitasker with a wide knowledge of officesoftware, exceptionally well organized and a good communicator.  Excellent oral and written communication skillsmust be demonstrated through application materials and interview.

The Administrative Assistant3 will work closely with other members of the administrative team to provideadministrative/secretarial support for the Department Chair, DepartmentAdministrator, Department Accountant, as well as for faculty, staff, postdocsand students. This individual will hold a PCard.

Duties include, but are not limited to, processing financialtransactions, reconciling purchases in Chrome River, creating/editing department newsletter, inventory and surplus contact, scheduling appointments/meetings,coordinating seminars/special events including arranging travel and preparingitineraries, maintaining office equipment and office supply inventory, filing, answering phones,sorting/screening mail, errands and miscellaneous office duties.

The position will requireattendance on campus, Monday - Friday, 8am to 5pm, with no scheduled weekendsexcept on for occasional obligations to meet deadlines or coordinate specialevents.
