Assistant Technology Coordinatorย 

Position Title: Assistant Technology Coordinatorย 

Reports to: Technology Coordinator/Superintendent of Schoolsย 

Summary: Supports the instructional and administrative computer technology needs of all district students and staff.ย 

Essential Dutiesย 

  • Facilitates the installation of new and existing hardware and software across the districtย 

  • Assists in the identification, evaluation and piloting of new computing programs and technology-based curricular adoptions; and makes recommendations for expansion or discontinuation of programs.ย 

  • Maintains up-to-date knowledge of Apple and Windows operating systems, macOS, iOS and associated hardware.ย 

  • Continually updates knowledge of an ever-expanding list of district-adopted (or school-adopted, grade-adopted) programs and technology-based curriculum resources.ย 

  • Recommend changes to the hardware distribution and purchases of new and replacement equipment to the Director of Information Technology/Technology Coordinator.ย 

  • Provides assistance, as required, to the Technology Coordinator and school district administrators regarding technical support of local and wide area networks.ย 

  • Provides technical support for all district staff.ย 

  • Works with the Technology Coordinator to determine current and future needs and make recommendations for upgrades and replacements.ย 

  • Provides primary installation, update and replacement services for technology hardware and software in the district.ย 

  • Performs such other duties as may be assigned by the Technology Coordinator and school district administrators.ย 

  • Participates in all training or training appropriate to the position as required by the district.ย 

Qualification Requirementsย 

  • Experience with computers, computer operations, computer peripherals, computer software applications, and general computer troubleshooting is essential.ย 

  • Ability and experience setting up, configuring and operating a networked computer.ย 

Education and/or Experienceย 

  • Minimum two-year technical degree or related experience in a technical support environment.ย 

  • K-12 teaching experience is preferred but not required.ย

  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to new situations and experiencesย 

  • Ability to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructionsย 

  • Ability to work without direct and/or continual supervisionย
