Join us as our senior server applications analyst! In this technical and professional senior level position, you will support individuals and groups throughout the agency to create, acquire and maintain complex systems that span multiple divisions. You will provide technical guidance and expertise to other Enterprise Operations technicians and information technology project teams. You will be responsible for providing expert consultation to management and professional information systems staff and for conducting comprehensive analysis, planning, development, implementation and coordination for the operations, maintenance, installation and architecture of information systems. A day in the life:
  • Research, evaluate and design new technology for use in the agency's mission critical infrastructure including cloud computing, systems management, remote access, security, firewall, and intranet or internet related access and security.
  • Coordinate system planning and consider issues such as resource use, disaster planning, overall system performance and security.
  • Recommend appropriate course of action on issues surrounding data sharing, data storage, resource use, fault tolerance and redundancy, usage, security, integrity, compatibility, capacity and change control management.
  • Resolve system crashes and support critical point of sale applications for DMV and the Commerce and Compliance Division.
  • Manage and assist with multiple operating system platforms and internet communications related security.
  • Identify software and hardware defects and configuration problems, research failures and contact vendor technical support.
  • Conduct business analysis, research, needs assessment, business process modeling, documentation, architecture and program development.
  • Analyze and modify vendor software while working with vendor contacts and management.
  • Research, design and construct new systems using server and internet technology, and keep business needs, security and agency standards current.
  • May require working after hours including evenings, weekends and holidays and some overnight travel.
  • Hybrid work options available - the person in this position can mainly work remotely. Frequency of in office work will be determined based on business needs.
  • Must be able to pass and maintain Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) certification after hire.

Minimum qualifications:
Six (6) years of information systems experience in: information systems management.
OR
An associate's degree in computer science, information technology, or related field, OR completion of a two (2) year accredited vocational training program in information technology or related field;
AND
Four (4) years of information systems experience in: information systems management.
OR
A bachelor's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field AND two (2) years of information systems experience in: information systems management.
OR
Master's degree in information technology, computer science, or related field may substitute for all of the above.

  • Experience in the highest level of support for mission critical point of sale applications where criticality of the system includes time critical, revenue, regulatory requirements and public safety.
