We specialize in the development, manufacturing and customization of precision measurement devices, automated liquid handling stations, and sample management systems. Responsibilities
The Automation Engineer will provide applications support, technical support, and installation tools for Hamilton Customers, Hamilton Sales, and Hamilton Field Applications. They are a technical resource for Hamilton Teams throughout the design, fabrication, and delivery of Hamilton Customers systems. They are responsible to assess and demonstrate the feasibility and functionality of customer solutions delivered by Hamilton. They must create clear, concise and timely documentation throughout design and after delivery. This role is located onsite in Reno, Nevada.
Other Responsibilities Include:
  • Documents applications developed for a project, both within the script and in customer facing documentation.
  • Develops and tests application-specific protocols on Hamilton products based on requirements documentation provided by Hamilton Sales/Customer/Project Management team.
  • Troubleshoots, tests, and creates programming tools to support the needs of Hamilton customers.
  • Works closely with the Project Management and R&D teams for applications related tasks and/or issues.
  • Evaluates project details and provides design details for simple to complex system integrations. Providing reasonably accurate effort and timeline estimates for assigned tasks.

Qualifications
  • Experience with programming languages and computer knowledge is preferred.
  • Computer Networking and Systems is preferred.
  • Experience with laboratory automation, scientific application, and/or laboratory bench sciences is preferred.
  • Training and troubleshooting in a technical environment is preferred.

Education/Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Science, Engineering, Computer Science or similar field is required.
