POSITION OVERVIEW: As a CAD Technician at LJA Engineering, we are currently seeking a responsible, highly motivated, and detail-oriented individual to join our Land Surveying department in our Raleigh location as a Survey CAD Technician. The candidate must be able to work in a team environment as a member of a survey department assisting in boundary, ALTA, topographic, land development, engineering design, and construction surveys. The position offers advancement opportunities for motivated individuals who are willing to learn the skills and technologies required to advance in the profession.
A TYPICAL DAY MIGHT INCLUDE:
  • Process conventional field notes and digitally collected data, analyze field data, and interact with survey field crews.
  • Use survey data for the creation of survey plats, Sketches, and exhibits including surveys for builder services (vacant, form board, foundation, and final surveys)
  • Assist the survey manager with all aspects field crew preparation.
  • Process field collection files and database maintenance.
  • Prepare digital terrain models and contouring.
  • Deed, plat & document research, title & easement review.
  • Work in a safe manner and obey all safety regulations.
  • Inventory of field survey supplies.
  • Prepare ALTA/NSPS, as-built, boundary, topographic, survey deliverables.

REQUIRED EDUCATION/LICENSE/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Minimum of high school or technical school training with courses in computer-aided drafting or equivalent experience.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Civil 3D
  • Trimble Business Center experience preferred
  • Survey CAD experience required.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office suite & Google Earth
